Short Tour Description

The Costa Brava offers a great number of diverse natural environments. Tracks around a beautiful lake, trails along the banks of a winding river and narrow paths down onto sprawling sandy beaches are some of the wonderful sights that you can enjoy during your time here on one of our e-bikes. The variety here makes a holiday with us the perfect adventure for the whole family - from young babies up to adults in their 90s!!

Complete happiness for the whole family can be achieved here. The children will love having the chance to dive and jump into crystal-clear lakes, play in the rivers and swim in the deep blue Mediterranean Sea! There will be plenty of time throughout this route to make the most of swimming opportunities! There is nothing better than a refreshing dip after a morning of cycling! With the added power of the e-bikes, everything is made just that little bit easier and your whole family will be able to experience a range of secret places that can only be discovered by bike!

From a mountain lake you will follow the river through to the lowlands and down to the coastline. Your accommodation during the tour will be small family-run country houses that will make you feel very much at home and you will love the friendly ambience!

Day 1: Welcome to Darnius

A beautiful country house that the whole family will love will welcome you for the first part of this adventure. This authentic property will put you in the holiday mood and you will immediately start to relax!

Day 2: A day by the lake

The lake is close by and you will be able to jump on your e-bikes and ride down to the lakeside. You will glide down to the lake on your e-bikes, cross sandy beaches and enjoy panoramic views as you travel with a smile on your faces! You will have a fantastic first impression of how much fun the week ahead of you has in store with the e-bikes! Your holiday starts in style and you can ride your bikes, go swimming, rent a boat and eat ice cream on the shores of the lake.

Day 3: Into the wild

The real adventure starts today! Today is the first time that you will try your e-bikes in the mountains and really feel the power of the bike and enjoy the added help that it will give you! Getting deep into the woodland and forest, among cork oak trees you will arrive to Molí de’n Robert. A jump in the pool here, an ice cream and a good meal are waiting for you in this magical spot surrounded by a natural river and hidden river pools. The perfect reward for a day of cycling in hilly terrain! The best part of today is the downhill ride following the break back down to the lakeside!

Day 4: A lengthy tour - following the river to the sea

Today you and your family can experience a glorious ride from the mountains to the sea. It is a long day, but with the added help of the e-bikes you have no problems and can take things at your own pace! The track is rather flat and very pleasant here. You will follow the River Muga downstream and enjoy seeing how the river changes as it winds its way down to the Mediterranean. Next to the river you will find beautiful rest points and ideal swimming holes to stop and relax. At the end of a long day, you will relax under palm trees at your lodging for the night! The perfect place to chill-out and unwind!

Day 5: Biking and the beach

Today you follow the “long beach” to the lively fisherman village of Escala. Here you can find the most beautiful sandy beaches with the Bay of Roses: Dive into the sea, go snorkelling and savour a pizza in a little beach bar, while admiring the fantastic views! If you wish, you can also explore the turquoise blue shimmering bay of Montgó. Biking and the beach – what more could you want for the perfect family holiday!

Day 6: Bikes and boats

Today you will enjoy the whole day on the Costa Brava. The cycling tracks that you will ride pass through the swamps of the Aiguamolls where bird watching is highly recommended. In this stunning natural park, you can spot all sort of ducks, aquatic birds and storks living here! Today's biggest treat will be a boat trip that will take you from the Bay of Roses to the Cape. Discover the colossal cliffs and hidden bays that cannot be seen from the shore! This is a true Costa Brava experience, cruising around on the Mediterranean Sea with the wind in your hair!

Day 7: Hasta la vista Costa Brava!

Character

e-Wheel adventure is a pure family e-bike holiday that is suitable for all ages - every day you can choose whether you swim, jump or dive into fresh or salty water! This tour has something for everyone! The tour level is classified as easy to moderate, but this will depend on the choices you’ll take during the tour, as you will have the option to make it slightly easier, or a bit more of a challenge, depending on how you feel! There are both easy and challenging variations depending on your wishes and skills.

Please note! For children between the ages of one and three we recommend a single trailer.
For children between the ages of three and seven we recommend a streamliner (a smaller bike connected to an adult bike).
For children between the ages of eight and twelve we recommend a special children´s e-MTB.

Arrival day: at 7:00 p.m. with a tour briefing and introduction to the e-bikes (typically last about 2 hours). Dinner at 9:00 p.m.
Departure day: Breakfast (approximately 9:00 a.m.) – departure with transfer to the train station / airport (Girona).
The tour operator reserves the right to substitute the described accommodation with an equivalent alternative if necessary.
Due to local conditions, a route change or amendment may be necessary.

All tour itineraries are general guidelines and in order to offer our customers the best e-cycling holiday experience we make occasional changes. The number of daily kilometres and metres of ascent are approximate as we offer different options on most of the days of the tour. For example, sometimes you can choose between a longer or a shorter route and sometimes between easy and more challenging paths to suit your preferences.

Depending on the number of simultaneous tours, the season, the weather and national holidays, we may make alterations to the itineraries at short-notice, which could affect the number of hours of e-cycling per day, the route we take to any given destination or the use of alternative accommodation. Tours can also be cycled in both directions. All changes are at our discretion, but when changes are made, we endeavour to ensure that our high quality standards are maintained and reflected in the alternatives that we choose.
